Learning To Drive In Chelmsford
As I’m based in Great Baddow, I’m perfectly placed to provide driving lessons in Chelmsford and other areas close to here. If you are looking to learn to drive nearby, here are a few other areas that I also offer driving lessons in:
If you don’t already have a driving test booked, you can get your first hour for free! This is ideal to get used to the car and to go over any questions you may have. The only condition is that you don’t have a driving test already booked. To arrange your first free hour, or if you have any questions about learning to drive, please get in touch.
As far as the roads are concerned, this area of Essex has a good balance of roads with (on the whole) fairly sensible layouts and markings. If you know the area, you may dread places like the Army And Navy roundabout, or the Boreham Interchange, but after some lessons, they should be a lot less scary!
Chelmsford is also lucky enough to have both a theory and driving test centre within the city centre so you won’t need to travel too far from the roads you are familiar with. The theory test centre can be found at Grosvenor House (1st Floor), 51 New London Road, Chelmsford, CM2 OND, which is opposite the job centre.
The Chelmsford driving test centre used to be near the University, in Hoffmanns Way. At the start of 2015 it moved to join with the former VOSA testing centre. The ‘new’ DVSA driving test centre can be found in the Widford Industrial Estate, Hanbury Road, CM1 3DR. If you are going there without a Driving Instructor, the parking spaces for the test centre are at the far end near to the exit.
As a little extra, below is a short video looking at one of the way to deal with the double roundabouts near the Park & Ride in Sandon.
